“Black Girl Magic" is more than a buzz-word or trend. It's the essence of Black women. The Museum for Black Girls is a space to celebrate this essence, as well as educate about the journey to our present state and liberation. Finally, and most importantly, our museum serves as a love letter to Black women and our experience.​

In December 2019, we transformed a beautiful boutique into an immersive, interactive pop-up gallery featuring multiple, vibrant exhibits. What was supposed to be a one-night event giving black girls their flowers, has turned into a permanent, traveling exhibition welcoming thousands of visitors from all over the country between the Denver and Houston locations, with Washington D.C opening Fall 2022. And reaching over 400,000 people on social media.

The museum is ultimately a creative celebration of self-love and was created with the intention to highlight black girl magic moments and to recreate some of our memories in. This grassroots endeavor is all installed and put together by family and local artist collaborations.

Guests are invited to experience the joy of black girl magic through interactive installations, immersive rooms, and carefully curated moments....through the lens of black women.

Our Mission: Museum for Black Girls wants to each guest to leave the experience feeling motivated and inspired to create their own beautiful stories and history.
